After our adventures in new cities and states, we were excited to arrive back in our homeland. Iowa’s been good to us, and this tour was no different. We had four shows back home, our first being in Des Moines at Java Joe’s. Last year we had a separate show, but this time we were the featured performers at the open mic they host ever other Thursday. There were a lot of awesome performers who were fun to get to know. Also, there was a piano which Steph was excited to use for our set.
In Iowa City, we played at Uptown Bill’s, which was a pleasure, as always. Tom (the host) had recently added a stuffed tiger to the stage, which was a very nice touch. Steph and I love the listening room environment at Uptown Bill's, and enjoyed playing in the intimate setting.
Now home sweet home… The Grape Life is another listening room and we were so excited to see so many people out that night. An old friend from high school showed up, and drove all the way from Ames! Thanks, David. :) We had a three hour set, so we pulled out some old covers. It was a very special night.
Our final show was at Milltown Coffee in Moline, IL. Again, so many people came out which energized our performance and made it an especially fun night.
Thanks to all those who made this tour amazing. See ya next time! :)
